University of Vienna Cycles
Get moving together – for health, climate, and sustainable mobility
Whether commuting to university, heading to work, or enjoying leisure time: cycling is a climate-friendly way to move through the city, boosts personal health, and makes everyday life more active.
That's why the University of Vienna is participating in the Austria-wide initiative "Österreich radelt" and invites students and staff to log kilometres together. From 20th March to 30th September 2026, the call is: get on your bike, ride your routes, and become part of an Austria-wide movement for active mobility.
Every ride counts – whether it's your daily commute to university, a quick errand, or a longer weekend cycling trip.
Cycling strengthens the cardiovascular system, reduces stress, and adds physical activity to your daily routine.
Every kilometer traveled by bike or on foot reduces emissions and helps protect the environment.
As a large university community, we can collectively raise many kilometers.
This campaign encourages people to incorporate cycling into their daily lives more often. In the process, they can discover new (cycling) routes and opportunities and gain new experiences.
