Accessible and secure bicycle parking is an essential prerequisite for sustainable mobility. The University of Vienna provides appropriate facilities at many locations and continues to expand them.
As many areas around university buildings are in public space, responsibility for installing parking facilities often lies with the City of Vienna. The university is in ongoing dialogue with the relevant municipal departments and districts on this matter.
A comprehensive study is planned for 2026, covering all University of Vienna locations. It will analyse both expansion potential on university-owned land and coordination with the City of Vienna, in order to provide a solid basis for the further development of cycling infrastructure.
